MATERIALS
1 Hank LANG JAWOLL COLOR AKTION (100 grs), #0209
1 Set (4) double pointed knitting needles (dpn), size 2 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
2 St markers (2 different colors)
GAUGE
30 sts = 4”; 41 rows = 4” in St st
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE
Note: Since there is so much stretch in the k2, p2 ribbing, check your gauge in St st
GAUNTLET (Make 2)
With dpn’s, cast on 60 sts. Divide sts evenly onto 3 dpn’s (20 sts on each needle) and join, being careful not to twist sts. Mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up. Work even in k2, p2 ribbing for 3”.
Shape Thumb Gusset: Inc Rnd 1: M1k, k2, M1k, place 2nd marker, p2, * k2, p2, rep from * around – 62 sts.
Next Rnd: K4, p2, * k2, p2, rep from * around. Rep the last rnd twice more.
Inc Rnd 2: M1k, k4, M1k, sl marker, p2, * k2, p2, rep from * around – 64 sts.
Next Rnd: K6, p2, * k2, p2, rep from * around. Rep the last rnd twice more. Continue in this manner to inc 2 sts between markers every 4th rnd, working all sts between markers in St st and remaining sts in ribbing as established until there are 14 sts between markers – 72 sts.
Next Rnd: K2, (p2, k2) 3 times, sl marker, p2, * k2, p2, rep from * around. Rep this rnd twice more.
Thumb Opening: Next Rnd: Bind off 14 sts, drop 2nd marker, work in ribbing to end – 58 sts.
Following Rnd: Cast on 2 sts, work in ribbing to end – 60 sts. Work even in k2, p2 ribbing until piece measures 7” from beg. Bind off loosely in ribbing.
